The ritual
Plated jewellery isn't fragile — it's chemically opinionated. Perfume acids, sweat salts and humidity are its three enemies. Master these six habits and a Dyuti piece stays luminous 6–12 months of regular wear; a hair of care stretches into years.
Last on, first off
Perfume, hairspray, moisturiser, sindoor and sunscreen all attack plating. Dress, drape, decorate the vanity — then wear your Dyuti last. After the evening ends, take it off before anything else.
The dry wipe ritual
After every wear, wipe pieces gently with the flannel pouch from your Dyuti box. It lifts sweat and dust before acids sit overnight — 30 seconds today saves 6 months of shine.
Airtight between wears
Zip-lock between wears, separately — two bangles in one pouch grind each other. Anti-tarnish finishes are sealed, but trapped Bengal humidity still finds routes; a dry pouch defeats them.
Monsoon & Bengal humidity
Anti-tarnish pieces shrug rain and splash; even a drenched Ashtami is recoverable. Open-finish oxidised gunmetal is different — pat dry immediately and keep the piece airtight with a silica pouch.
Sleep in jewellery? Never.
Skin oils plus friction for 8 hours dulls plating and stresses hooks. Chokers, studs and payal come off before bed — your pillow is jewellery's worst mattress.
Cleaning don'ts
No toothpaste, alcohol wipes, tea-tree oils, brillo or ultrasonic machines — they strip the seal. A little lukewarm water with mild soap on fretwork jhumkas, one rinse, then absolutely dry.
Anti-tarnish pieces carry a 60-day shine warranty: if plating dulls within 60 days of delivery despite care, WhatsApp a photo and we replace free. Daily-wear flagship finish (the sealed one on all Anti-Tarnish Daily collection crafts) is covered a further 6 months against flaking. See returns for how claims move.
